Star Trek Big Ship Collection: Jupiter Station - Issue 97 Located in orbit around the fifth and largest planet in the Solar System, Jupiter Research Station was a United Earth (and later Federation) orbital facility consisting of six stacked saucer hulls divided into two sections. Jupiter Station was a frequent stop for the crew of the Enterprise NX-01, under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer, thanks to its extensive maintenance, repair, and supply capabilities—and its role as a holographic training center for MACO troops. Designer Rick Sternbach took inspiration from the classic Spacedock look and speculated that the saucers may have been recycled from decommissioned vessels.
